Participants from the Third District in the Province of Iloilo: Municipalities of Maasin, Lambunao, Calinog, Cabatuan, Janiuay, Pototan, and Mina; gathered today, February 24, 2023, for the Opening of the 3rd Congressional District Sports Association Meet (CDSA Meet) at the Mina Sports and Cultural Center (MSCC) in Mina, Iloilo. The program started with the Opening Remarks of Dr. Luda G. Ahumada, Principal IV of the Mina National High School. It was then followed by the Special Message of Hon. Lydia E. Grabato, Municipal Mayor of Mina. Mayor Grabato emphasized the importance of indulging oneself with sports and a healthy lifestyle to improve one’s self-esteem, leadership skills, and camaraderie especially with young athletes. The program continued with Mr. John Carl M. Huesca, 2022 National Champion of the Batang Pinoy – Sepak Takraw, leading the Oath of Amateurism and Mr. Joseph L. Corneja, Technical Director of Sepak Takraw, leading the Oath of Coaches and Technical Officials and stating the Rules and Guidelines of the Games.The event concluded with the Official Declaration of the Opening of the 3rd CDSA Meet by Dr. Bimbo S. Casquite, Public Schools District Supervisor of the Schools District of Mina.Mina is the host municipality and venue for the Sepak Takraw and Gymnastics events during this year’s 3rd CDSA Meet.

Mayor Lydia E. Grabato conducted a short dialogue to business permit applicants prior to the signing of their respective business permits on January 6, 2023. Hon. Baasim Abbas Pendioday, SB Member,Chairman Committee on Commerce,Trade and Industry and Ms. Stephany Seloterio-Baradas, Licensing Officer II assisted her during this undertaking. The dialogue specifically aims to attain an understanding on issues and policies affecting the operations of business establishments in the locality; to promote proper coordination of the LGU with the business sectors; and to develop camaraderie among business owners.
PASKWA HALAD SA BANWA CLOSING PROGRAM
LGU Mina held the Closing Program for the Paskwa Halad sa Banwa at the Mina Sports and Cultural Center last December 30, 2022. The program began with some Magic Shows for the children followed by the Welcome Messages of Mayor Lydia Grabato and Vice Mayor John Michael Defensor. The municipal officials, heads, and staff also gave bags of rice through a raffle draw to the indigent residents of the 22 barangays.The contestants from the different barangays in the municipality also joined the Singing Contest and Dance Competition. On the other hand, while announcing the winners for the Most Number of Attendees during the Barangay General Assembly, the DepEd Elementary, Liga Ng Mga Barangay, Mina National High School, and MMH Workforce presented their special dance numbers to the audiences. The winners of the Palaro ng Mina 2022 were then recognized and awarded afterwards.The program concluded with a Grand Raffle Draw which included 1 refrigerator as the major prize and was luckily won by a resident of Barangay Bangac. Other prizes were food packs, kitchenwares, stand fans, and 40-inch flat screen televisions.
